Is this dedicated hosting?
Absolutely! Nobody will have access to your server but you. We'll plug it into a router that's connected directly to a screaming fast OC48 connection. Your server's performance will not be affected by any other servers or users.
Are there any restrictions on what I can do with my server?
Our Terms of Use contain more info. Acceptable use basically boils down to this:
- Don't spam.
- Don't hack.
- Don't harrass.
- Don't run a child pornography site (sorry, we have to state this).
- Don't run a gambling site.
- Hold your customers to this same set of rules.
Can I resell my services?
You sure can. You can run a blog or CMS hosting site, or even give your customers shell access. Just keep in mind that you are responsible for your customers' behavior; they must honor the same AUP that you do.
I'm nervous about sending you my Mac mini. Will proper care be taken? What if something happens to it?
We require that you opt for carrier insurance when you ship it to us; we'll do the same when we ship it back to you at the end of your term. While it's in our facility, it will be covered by your warranty with Apple, if you have one.
What happens if my Mac mini has a hardware failure?
We can send it back to you, or we can send it to Apple or another repair facility on your behalf. If you are concerned about minimizing downtime, you may want to opt for our hardware insurance. We'll temporarily replace your damaged hardware within 24 hours and you may use our server while yours is being repaired.
If I opt for Plan B or Plan C, using one of your Mac minis, what do I get?
We will install a Mac mini that's 100% in working order. We'll restore the software installation to the factory default. We can also perform custom software installation. Contact us for more information.
